Cooco’s Den ; Traditional Food in Dreamy Setting

Cooco’s Den, a name with long story, more appropriate to say: a saga, an epic. Located in Heera Mandi of Lahore. Surrounded with the most famous buildings of Lahore; The Badshahi Mosque, Data Darbar and the Lahore Fort, commonly known as Shahi Qila.

The restaurant has a spell bounding setting within its four walls. The blend of tradition, art and a life history of the owner of the restaurant. The ambiance and interior of the house is like you enter another world. Each wall is ready to tell you a story. Talking about the setting of interior, a small entrance will get you to another world. Right in front of the door there is a narrow staircase which will lead you to the terrace.  Moving in, most of the seating has been arranged here.

The cuisine served here in traditional way. Here you will find the typical desi food items. Furthermore, serving everything from traditional appetizers to a variety of delectable Lahori’s eateries, and topping it off with great tasting dessert. Without any doubt, Cooco’s Den is definitely a food connoisseur’s delight. The restaurant is usually open at evening and welcome their guest for a tea or dinner. Moreover, the sight of having dinner onto the rooftop on moonlight, with the amazing view of lights in Badshahi Mosque, a truly worth watching.

On the other hand, Cooco’s Den also served as mini museum where the art is persevered. Most of the art and painting are painted by the owner of the restaurant. Mr. Iqbal Hussain is the man who belong to this area. The art shows his upbringing and deep harsh reality of life. Only man with aesthetic sense can observed this.  In 2004 The Boston Globe writes about the place and writes “An Artist turns bleak into beauty”. The restaurant is frequently visited by TV and movie stars, politicians and dignitaries around the world. If you have never been there for dine out then plan it today.
